KNIFE THE SYMPHONY (Cincinnati, OH) is hosting a release show for their newest Split LP/CD with LKN (Portland, OR) this Saturday October 9th at the SOUTHGATE HOUSE in Newport, KY. The show this Saturday is being billed as the Midwestern Release Show as only Knife The Symphony will be representing the new Split at this time (LKN will have her own release show in the Northwest later this Fall). Nine new songs total. Six from LKN and three from Knife The Symphony, including a cover of On Your Knees by the legendary fIREHOSE.

Starting October 12th, you can purchase the Split vinyl LP and CD online through the Phratry store. The digital version of the album is currently available through iTunes and Amazon. Phratry Records is proud to announce that on Friday October 8th, THE TERMINAL ORCHESTRA (Marquette, MI) will be performing their debut LP The Seasons, live, in its entirety, at the DEVOS ART MUSEUM on the campus of Northern Michigan University. This is the first public performance for the sextet, and copies of the new album will be available on CD at this concert. The record will be available in the Phratry online store on October 12th with wider distribution this Fall.

The Terminal Orchestra is one of the newest groups to be added to the Phratry roster. Conceived in the often forgotten part of Michigan, the Upper Peninsula (with its lush forests, slower paced lifestyle and noncompetitive atmosphere) composer Jesse DeCaire and The Terminal Orchestra began writing in 2005. What started as a studio outlet for making pastoral movie soundtrack music (for movies yet to be made) has since ballooned into a live, performing ensemble. Complete with strings and percussion, The Terminal Orchestra have as much in common with contemporary composers and performers such as Nick Cave/Warren Ellis and William Basinski as they do with Ennio Morricone and Igor Stravinksky. You can listen a selection from The Seasons via the media player above, or checkout THE TERMINAL ORCHESTRA online.
