August 2014 marks the ten year anniversary of Phratry Records. We are excited to announce a two day showcase taking place at the Southgate House Revival in Newport, KY on October 17 and 18. Shane Chaney of Swear Jar has been spearheading a film-project showcasing the work of Phratry these last ten years. Below is first-look teaser at just some of the live footage complied in this last year. We are very excited to get this out, but will continue to work throughout the remainder of 2014 to release what will hopefully be a worthwhile and interesting document of a DIY label which has maintained consistent output since 2004. Lineup for the October showcase to be announced soon.
Knife The Symphony recently returned home from a ten day tour to promote their new Split 7” with Aperiodic, Mala In Se and Joe 4. Michigan-based punk band The Redettes is celebrating the AntiChristmas (that’s exactly six months opposite Christmas), by releasing a new single, Under the Mistletoe. The song is available for streaming, or as a free download from their Bandcamp page. The Redettes have been in the studio working on the follow-up to their debut album, ED released on Phratry back in 2011. Since it’s release the band has toured all over the U.S. and in 2012 the album was ranked #4 in issue #69 of The Big Takeover magazine by editor Jack Rabid.
